I'm using MatrikonOPC Server for Modbus v5.0.5 on a Windows 10 64 bit system and I'm having problems with getting with the OPC Client (OPC Explorer v5.0.0.0) 32bit float values.

The OPC Server (named "Modbuseth") connects to a modbus device via Ethernet.

In the OPC Client I create a tag "Modbuseth.3W:30034F" and set it's data type to "Single Float". As I watch the communication form the OPC server to the modbus device the server demands only one 16bit register rather than two (as expected).

How to configure the tag to get appropriate 32bit float values? Below is the comminication between the OPC server and the modbus device

server erquest:
004700000006010375510001
device response:
0047000000050103024145

problem solved

Solution:

in the server configuration the "Modbus Address" must be set to a value <> 0.
