I have an application (which I have inherited) that uses MatrikonOPC UCS with Mitsubishi Plc Plug-in or Modbus Plug-in depending on the machine (We're not using both the plug-ins on the same machine). Now we need to add a tag that will take a value between 1 and 255, i.e. Byte size.

But I can't find any way of specifying that the OPC should read/write a byte. Seems like the plug-ins only support VT_BOOL or VT_UI2!?

Do I need to use a Word (16 bits) instead of a Byte(8 bits)?
