Is there any way to use embedded server as a discovery server? Manual has very scarce amount of information about UA Local Discovery and it looks like it is not implemented. Is there a way to achieve automatic server discovery using current server and client? Edited by user Thursday, February 11, 2016 4:54:24 PM(UTC)

Hi dima_t,
Client should be able to discover the Server which is under the local network (this feature in present in the Embedded SDK to discover itself). No configuration changes required to achieve the same.
But Server cannot act as a local discovery server to detect the other servers in the same network.

FindServers method requires explicit url. It looks like some workaround will be required to get automated server listing working.

Hi Dima_t When I said " Client should be able to discover the Server which is under the local network (this feature in present in the Embedded SDK to discover itself)", I meant, if the user knows in which machine OPC UA server is running, then user can browse the OPC UA server in client (ex: UA Expert) under Local Network -> <MachineName> -> <OPC UA Server URL> If the server and client are running on the same machine then server can be browsed from Local as well Note: 1. make sure that the Port number is 4840. 2. If the server is on some embedded device then OPC UA server cannot be discovered in the above mentioned approach. Kindly accept my apologies if my previous response was misleading. P.S: Automated Server list from part 12 feature implementation is in progress. It will be available in the future release.
