Hi All
Wondering if anyone has seen this before and can comment:
Historian is connecting to tunneller client (both on same machine), tunneller client then connects to tunneller server on a different machine that hosts the OPC DA server. Sometimes the OPC DA server crashes (which it does on the odd occassion - it an ABB 800 xa MOD OPC server). When this happens and the OPC server gets restarted I get the following messages in the tunneller client log:
CTunnellerReadItemsExchange::_HandleMessage Failed to parse read items response
This message keeps on getting logged in the tunneller client side logs and connecting the Matrikon OPC Explorer to the tunneller client I am not able to get any data from the MOD OPC DA server. If I restart the tunneller client service then the messages stop being logged and data is available via the tunneller client.
If the MOD OPC DA server is gracefully stopped then when it is restarted tunneller works as expected. I checked that there are no orphaned processes left running when the MOD OPC DA server crashes as I have seen orphaned OPC server processes cause issues in other situations.
Anyone have any thoughts on why this might be happening?
